14.6 Million Dollars a Year. FOR ARAMIS RAMIREZ?

This blows my mind. Dont get me wrong, the Cubs really needed to resign him. You arent going to replace his production, spotty as it is at times, with someone like Mike Lowell. But I cant believe we have to pay him this much. He is not 14.6 million dollars worth of third baseman.
And the word here is that the Angels had offered him more. Millions more, and he turned them down to stay in Chicago. 73 Million over the next 5 years? This seems like a sucker contract to me...

A-rod 112M (to the Yanks) for 7 years, ending one year before Ramirez's contract ends. That's almost the same money. Think about that little beauty and then tell me who you'd rather have.

A-Ram had 38 homers and 119 RBI's with an OBP of .352 this year with the guy in front of him in the order and our best hitter hurt the whole season.
A-ROD had 35 homers and 121 RBI's with an OBP of .392 this year hitting in the best line-up in anyone's recent memory.
The numbers are relatively similar.

For one year. Ramirez also plays in a bandbox. Are you seriously saying Ramirez is worth as much as Rodriguez? What, did you just harvest?

His postseason career numbers are actually comparable to Reggie Jackson. It's just the last two years, starting with the series vs. Boston in the ALCS that he started crumbling.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they've both won one series. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

Rodriguez has 3 but he only had one AB in one of them, so we'll call it 2. He did pretty well until the last two and a half. Ramirez plays in a band box and still his best year is equivalent to Rodriguez's worst. Neither has any rings, which was my point. Neither.
Rodriguez 162 game average R126 HR43 RBI125 ST22 .305 Ramirez...162 game average R80 HR30 RBI104 ST2 .279
