Weird, angry lookin' little shrooms...

In my research of some PF Hawaiians, I've encountered some very odd looking little mushrooms. Dwarfish in size, very dark, solid looking stem approaching an olive color. The caps are also very dark, and very round, and slow opening.

All shrooms from the same sample had extremely thick and dense stalks. One seemed almost crisp when I bent its stalk. I thought at first that they would be overly water laden. I've seen shrooms just absorb too much water from the environment. The first time was when a carp came in contact with my perlite layer. It blew up with water but the tissue became mushy almost and the tissues were way too full of water. The angry little shrooms and others from the batch don't seem water logged at all but very robust and solid. Does anyone know what this might mean or how it might have happened?

I did adjust my cake recipe to have a higher ratio of food to other ingredients over previous experiments but not outside of the extreme limits of some widespread teks.

My immediately previous experience with this carp resulted in larger but less dense shrooms.

Is density thought to be a good or bad thing?

I think you just have real healthy boomers due to the extra nutrients in the cake. But I could be wrong though.
