mycelium staining blue
    #6276581 - 11/12/06 09:10 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

i misted my casings earlier today before i shut off the light, and a few minutes later the mycelium stained blue from the misting.

my question is, does this mean fruits any day now?

no. it means you need to be more careful misting! sounds like you sprayed directly at it? those little droplets can carry a lot of force. blue mycelium on a grow means one of two things: its dehydrated, or its damaged! make sure when you mist to never ever point the sprayer at your casing, spray it upwards and over, and let the fine mist gently drift down. hopefully you didn't mist them with the wrong thing either (its been known to happen, folks get lazy about labelling their mist bottles) - they'll also bruise blue on you if you mist them with something like bleach water or alcohol.

heh I've search this forum with only vague intros to Bluing in mycelium. Only relevant but still yet vague explanation as to why myc starts to blue without touching or over watering it was: STRESS.

DAMN IT JIM! Stress to what? I don't mean to hijack here but its sorta related.
