i was wondering if i bought a big bag of manure and laid it on the ground outside and sprayed it down regularly with enough water and then put the spores on , then re-water and be in a dark place and with alot of humidity!! If i did all that would i get any results with Panaeolus subbalteatus ??? i live in eastern canada and pan subbs do grow in these suroundings!! And if my easy method above did actually work what are the chances of contamination?

i experimented w/ cow manure, and spores injected strait into it will not germinate. however. if you can get the spores to germinate into a seperate container, then transplant the mycelia into the manure then it will grow. contamination is not a problem, well, not in my case it isn't but you never no. i know canada is dirty, so mabye! j/k

do you have any good working methods on how exactly do germinate my spores into a seperate container because im not 100% literate on growin shrooms but i do know a few things. I wanted to know if id have to use a rice cake or anything else other than manure and water because i want to keep things as simple as possible!! thanx alot man!

want simplicity? okay. fuck the stupid brf cake. substitute w/ reg plain ole cooked brown rice. put in your jar, top w/ vermiculite. boil in a pot for 45 min. wait for it to cool, then inoculate. this is what i used and it grew far, far faster than the brf tek. showed signs in 4 days. beats the week and a half for the brf. got it? simple. when cake is fully colonized, then its up to you what to do. you can case topped w/ your manure, or just leave it as it is. i did both w/ mine. got one casing that is growing good. no pins yet. and i have one cake sitting in a homemade terrerium from a trashcan w/ lots of water/h2o2 soaked toilet paper w/ plastic wrap holding in the humidity. this is very easy. "you can do it. you can do it all night long!"

when i put the brown rice and vermiculite in the jar to boil do i add any water? and as soon as it cools off to normal temp is it then when i add the spores or should i wait about a day? And for the rice and vermiculite how much should i put in lets say a 2litter bottle? And i plan on transplanting after that into manure so does it matter what kinda of manure? and when i do transplant is it a better thing to do instead of keeping it in the original cause alot of times contamination can become a prob cant it?
