We need to get our asses back to the moon, to do some major research, so we can get a base there. It would be a lot cheaper to launch space vehicles from the moon.
It bothers me that we race to get to the moon, and then don't go back for more than a 1/4 of a century.

Yeah, and we paid off the Russians so they'd never mention this fact.

If we didn't go to the moon, then how did the little dish that we bounce signals off of get there?
The device I am speaking of is used all the time to measure how far the moon is moving away from the Earth. It's about an inch and a half a year.

It bothers me that we race to get to the moon, and then don't go back for more than a 1/4 of a century.
There are alot better reasons to bypass the Moon completely and just head to Mars. While there are a few potentially profitable things on the moon, almost all of them can be found in greater quantities on Mars, along with almost everything needed to sustain life, produce rocket fuel, and support a thriving economic community.
The Moon is nothing but a waypoint, not a place for a permanent community. It makes no sense to invest tens of billions of dollars in building a base on a place you will shortly leave for greener pastures, where you will have to spend tens of billions of dollars again.
Although, I'm sure that the current state of NASA being what it is, a Moon Base will be built for some enourmous sum and forgotten about shortly thereafter, ala ISS.

>It bothers me that we race to get to the moon, and then don't go back for more than a 1/4 of a century
Yes me too. After my research into e.t. Even the solid facts point heavily to an ET prescence upon the moon. i think when the government realised this, all research went underground.
Theres plenty of evidence but i will point out a couple of things;
On most of the initial space missions the astronauts reported their shuttles being followed by UFO's (the signals were recieved and recorded by amateur radio enthusiasts worlwide as they wern't encrypted at this time). NASA has a variety of wild excuses for every known incident.
Mattingly saw flashes and balls of light on the darkside of the moon. NASA checked their siezmometers for meteor etc activity (assumed the most likely cause) and bizarrely there has never been any explaination for the flashes or 'orbs'.
NASA has video footage of a saucer sat on the moon. its in the public domain (i have a copy on DVD) and clearly depicts a saucer (which is changing in color) on the surface of the moon. Once again there have been a variety wild explainations. it just seems to fishy to me!

Come on, please. You don't believe ET is hiding behind the moon, do you? I mean, why wouldn't ET come to visit us then? Why wouldn't we pick up any sign of them. Why didn't the Lunar Prospector find any sign of 'them'? Many astronauts see flashes, it happens when high energy radiation hits their retinas.

i shouldn't really be debating this here but don't you think your views are a little simplistic?
>why wouldn't ET come to visit us then?
Sorry but i'm laughing at that one hohoho
>Why wouldn't we pick up any sign of them.
Errr, we have! Thats what i was talking about!??
>Many astronauts see flashes, it happens when high energy radiation hits their retinas
i wasn't aware that the cameras that also filmed the flashes and 'orbs' had retinas!!?
Besides all of this; How would anybody know what to believe when NOBODY knows how or why we are here?
Thus i don't believe anything apart from (maybe) i think therefore i am!

Maybe you should think before you start seeing ET everywhere. But to each his own.
I can't see what aliens would want with a planet like ours. Do a little search online and you'll find good explanations for the orbs and flashes. I believe in aliens but I also believe that they'll probably be somewhere a few thousand light years away. Less evolved species are probably a lot more common.

1. i don't see ET everywhere but that would be funny 2. None of what you've said gives any reasonable explaination for what the astronauts reported 3. What would you like me to think about? Believe me when i say i've thought about this a hell of alot. i would expect that my knowledge of the phenomena far exceeds your assertions.

And ET is a reasonable explanation for some flashing lights?
That's abuse of reason.

Good attempt to belittle what i've said. My point here is that if it was just 'some flashing lights' then i'd agree with you.

Why didn't the Russians point out that we didn't beat them to the moon after all?

We never went to the moon..
Repeating something doesn't change it from nonsense to truth.
Second time now: Why didn't the Russians point out that we didn't beat them to the moon after all?
Or are you just following the conspiracy nuts' MO and making junk up that you can't back in any way (which is what I suspect)?
