I'm certain they are, but this is my first cyan find ever and I want to be positive. Can you see any that potentially are not of the same species?
Did I exercise the demons with my first active find EVER!?!?!?!
Habitat: dense forest. growing from fallen branches, wood chips & leaves.
Gills: attached. light carmel color... see pics
Stem: very hardy. hollow
Cap: wavy & caramely sweet
Spore print color: in progress
Bruising: on stem only
Location: Heart of suburbia. Portland, OR area.

They don't look right to me. The color of the stem and the gills does not look right. The gill attachment doesn't seem right. The stem is too yellowish brown. The gills are way to yellow, cyanescens have darker gills. I would definately wait for the spore print before ingesting those. I can't see the stems very well but it doesn't look like they are bruising blue. Cyanscens are not often found in dense forest, they usually like the edges of such habitates and are not often found growing from larger pieces of wood like branches. I have seen look-alikes very similar to the specimens in your picture.

The stem is what has me concerned too. They are not bruising blue... more of a dark brown. The gills may appear bright from the flash on my camera, but they are actually darker than the pics make them appear to be.

On first glance I would say no, but on a closer look it appears as if you might have one or two mixed in there. The stems don't look right on them, but 2 of them do have white stems. I would just spore print them all to convince yourself of your find, it's always the safest bet.

Spore print color is going to be crucial.
I'd set up each one of those caps for spore print in case you do have a mixed collection of species.
You mentioned bruising, but what color was the bruising? That dark looking color on the stems (appears almost blackish on my monitor) is not a good sign. If they turn blackish like that, it might suggest something from a possible poisonous genus. With the spore print we should be able to tell if this is the case one way or another.

little orrnage-brown mushrooms with viscose caps, orrange-brown stipes which darken significantly uppon handling, orrange-brown sub-decurrent gills and growth habit in/on wood are the hallmark of nasty. they look like galerinas in the autumnalis complex, and i'll bet the print will be rusty.

get familiar with those. you've found one of the deadliest fungi in nature and they cohabitate with actives in the northwest. you'll be able to point them out to others and you'll be sure you'll never have an accident with them

great lookalikes!! Had to point them out to a no0b today!! I use them as identifier mushrooms, if you see those mushrooms take a careful look around because you've found a Cyan Habitat! Once you've seen a cyan you will know one....firm white stem, bruising"Cyan"(blue) upon handling. G/L

In that case, I wouldn't doubt that they would kill you or put you into some serious pain. Now you know another thing to look for next time. I'd print them before even posting. That way you can eliminate some possible poisonous look-a-likes.

Cyans will blue on the cap, stem, everywhere. If you pinch a fresh specimen on the cap/gills they will blue, and it's a definate bluish/cyan color.

Hi everyone -
They look like Armillaria mellia to me, the Honey Mushroom. Delicious! Not, however, a mushroom to be hunted and eaten by the amateur: There are lots of potential look-alikes.
They are often found in great numbers (though not always).
Again, this is just what they look like from those particular photographs. I'd have to smell them and their environment, and have a closer look, before I'd even begin to think about considering the possiblity that I'm certain.
Cheers,
