"*Danny (the drummer 4 TOOL) recommended that One should study, the basics of Ritual Magic(k) and the schematic of Solomon's temple, to properly protect One's Self, before LisTening to Lateralus on a Psychedelic... "
That.
I've always thought those Tool guys were kind of kidding. Like, it was all tongue-in-cheek, all the pseudo-science and New Age stuff. Some of it's got to be a joke.
I don't really get all fanatic devotion. They're just like an angry Rush to me. An angry, New Age Rush. Mixed with Queensryche, maybe. And some Metallica.
They kind of remind me of Iced Earth or one of those bands where all their songs are about The Lord of the Rings. But with the edge taken off so they can get on the Top 40 rock radio sometimes.

lol...it IS a joke! practicing Occultists are always tongue-in-cheek...
and the name of the game is Power through Perception.
i respect your op bivalve, and have myself wondered if they are Propaganda/Disinformation,
but have you heard TOOL's new one Tripping?
imo, there is a BIG difference...
there is much more going on Here than meets the ears or the eyes.
M.A.- i LOVE the Salvial version of Pushit...
i think it shows they are maturing as a group.
i just recieved my tickets 2 TOOL.Live in CA.July 2002!
i get to see them on my 27th birthday...
WoooHoooo!!!!

I have heard that some of the creative force behind Tool is inspired by Jungian Psychology. Which makes sense that it would be rich in hidden and powerfull imagery because that is kinda what it is all about,Exploring the unconcious realm that we as humans share. Fascinating theories but Jung's writing was a bit dry and long winded for my taste.
