Just got back from hunt ..

And I found nothing. Huge woods behind my subdivision. After walking a bit I found a eletric fence. Went under it and fallowed the cow trail for as long as I could. And I didn't see 1 single shroom!! We had some rain yesterday too...its 11c out..About 50f

Where am I supposed to look? Does there need to special tempature? I live in Nova Scotia, Canada...East Coast..

Its supposed to rain everyday next week..Temps between 5-10c...That any good?

And I can't see any farmers letting a 15 year old onto their field to search for "edible mushrooms"

Help me out here..Thanks!

i have no expirence with east coast shroomin but on the west there is a much better chance in the late summer through the fall and into early winter. Maybe you could find a book on your area?

A book..Hmm...Went to Coles books and coulden't find one..

I just got back from lookin on a big manure heap. Found 2 little dried up mushrooms..Thats pretty bad for 2 manure piles isn't it?

try Aubondons(spelling) field guide to north american mushrooms, it should help, i ordered this book and dont have it yet, i have heard it is great!

I know the feeling.... I just got back from a long "hunt" near the Kentucky/Tennesee border (USA)... Although the weather would seem to be near perfect, not a single mushroom of ANY kind was found!

I have faith that at least non-magic 'shrooms should pop up within a month. (the fall does seem to be best around here however)

Well the most fun that I had was discovering some cannabis/hemp type hybrids. This Kentucky hemp shit grows all over the state. I actually found one plant that has what apears to be perfect Sativa leaves (with 7 leaf "fingers") on it- the only problem is that IT'S A VINE!!

Almost everywhere one looks down here you can find some type of wild hemp *like* cannabis. Now there certainly not 100% hemp as we know it. They seem to off been crossed bred with wild hemp.

BTW: I have found one 'shroom so far- looks like a puff-ball.

yeah we just had a shower here in houston and i thought for sure there would be some shrooms up in my usual spots... NOTHING!! it sucked.. maybe we need more rain.

The way the weather has been in the KY is that it rains very heavy from 1 to 3 days then the sun comes out for a few days and the cycle repeats it's self... In hind site I suppose that a few more days of rain back to back might be what is needed here to.

I can say this, all of the plants/trees/crops in this state are looking extremely green and healthy.
