Oregon Coast ID please
    #6263846 - 11/09/06 01:26 AM (14 years, 7 months ago)

I whould appreciate an ID of these mushrooms I found on the oregon coast. I was searching for Azurescens and thought these mushrooms might be them. They were growing in a Sandy area near some sea grass. The first three pictures have darker caps and a whiter stem and the last three pictures have more of a cream colored stem and cap. All of them were growing right next to one another. Didn't have a chance to take a spore print. Sorry. Am I looking in the right area? Do I need to be looking closer to the forested area? Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I am planning on a trip down to the Oregon Coast again this weekend and I was wondering if anyone has had luck down there. Is it still too early? Thanks again.

It's not azures, the gills are too white. Azures will give a nearly black sporeprint, and bruise seriously blue before you can get them home. They're in the dune grasses on the northern coast.

The ones with dark gills are probably Laccaria. The specimens with white gills look like Marasmius. Neither are active.
