I looked at a past email Mr. G sent me (I'm 100% sure that email came from him) and it wasn't encrypted. And the headers are VERY similar.

I'm sorry if you want to believe him, I just think he's covering his ass because I told him that I wanted to take legal action.
He freaked out and sent 3 emails in a rage, if he'd just responed to my last email and apologized I would drop it.
But he wants to play these games.

to ensure there was no host name spoofing I ran a host lookup and retrieved these results

so, basically, either someone else who has bellsouth.net as an ISP did this(highly unlikely considering the specifics and who else would have known about the situation with thor and Mr G) or Mr G did in fact send these emails to thor.
Or if Mr G still denies this information we can send a subpoena to his ISP for the log of which user had that IP addy at the time that email was sent, in the interest of legal action against Mr G.

As for legal action, that's a stupid idea. You know as well as I do no one's gonna get hurt for some fucking spores. Also considering the nature of this site i'd think legal action should be avoided. Just my opinion though.

How to send an email from someone else's or a fake email address...
1. Telnet to port 25 of any internet server
(eg. telnet site.name.and.address 25)
2. If at all possible, AVOID TYPING "HELO".
3. Type: rcpt to (person to receive fake mail){ENTER}
4. Type: mail from (fake name and address){ENTER}
5. The mail server should ok each time after each name.
6. If it does not:
a) type vrfy and then the name of the person
b) as a last resort use helo, this will login your computer as
having been the source of the mail
7. Retype the commands, it should say ok now.
8. Type: data{ENTER}
9. The first line of the message will be the Subject line
10. Enter your letter
11. To send letter type a "." on an empty line.
12. Then type quit{ENTER}
13. This is traceable by any sysadmin ... don't harass people this
way.
14. If the person receiving the mail uses a shell like elm he/she
will not see the telltale fake message warning
"Apparently-To:(name)" even if not, most people wouldn't know
what it means anyway.
15. Make sure you use a four part address somebody@part1.pt2.pt3.pt4
so as to make it look more believable and cover any add-ons the
mail routine might try
16. Put a realistic mail header in the mail message to throw people
off even more. If there are To: and Date: lines then the
program probably won't add them on.
17. Also try to telnet to the site where the recipient has his
account. This works better if you know how to fool it.
its even easier than that for the dumber folks(and easier to trace)...all you have to do is go into your email client and change your email address to anything you want, and boom- it sends it as that. as others have pointed out this can be traced back to you either way.

When I was a kid, I did the telnet mail spoof to my girlfriend's boss who was harassing her and all it took for them to track me down was a few calls to a few ISPs. I even telneted into an anonymous server....well, they were anonymous until someone raised hell.................
Long story short, call the people at the server where the mail originated from ....hint....look in the headers.......................dork

So, what do you do? You make a poll and let the idiots in the vendor forum judge. These are the same vendors who call cops on their customers and post customer addresses and phone #'s.

The ISPs will at least persue and track down the origination of the probelm. The cops, unless you have some kind of proof, will treat you like a fat paranoid drug addict.

The info in his emails were only known to me and him. I highly doubt someone would go to that trouble, and besides Ripper says its 99% likely thanks to the headers on the emails that its him, or at least someone on his computer.

Poppy, like I've said to you before man, don't assume so much. The first thing I did after I got those emails was to ask a few computer experts to get cracking on finding out if those were for sure from him. The next step is contacting the ISP which I will do tommorow.
Legal action is something that I considered when I was very angry, but then again he's denying this and I'm being told by some smart computer people that those emails are from him.
I will wait on the ISP to see what happens next, personally I just want Mr G to admit to it if he did this, which I'm quite certain of at this point.

oh, my bad. From your posts it sounded like you were gathering a posse' to lynch this person before he was shown to be responsible.
I've never even heard of this Mr. G asshole, but having an administrator bring something like this out and have everyone take shots at him basically will ruin the dork, especially if he is a vendor.
Hopefully you can resolve this and implicate the correct party (Mr G or otherwise).
I'm glad Ripper is helping you out. I've heard so many good things about him on IRC. I hear he is pretty knowledgeable about IRC...I guess that is why he is you IRCop. They really speak highly of him in #weirder.

Thor, Recently he posted here at the shroomery under another name saying he had been banned from posting and then someone, I think Club99 said that Mr. G. wasn't banned.
His posting a mesage directly to you at alt.drug.net makes no sense and asking others to post his response to you because he is unable to post here is ludicrous.
This person made a threat against your family. IF he did that in person you could have him arrested just for terroristic threatening. I myself would have turned this over to the police regardless of what anyone else here at the shroomery say if he had threatened my children or family..
This is not snitching but it is protecting the family that you love.
These are ill rational words and a threat is a threat. I see no joke and I think those defending him with a few posts are either him or one of his friends.
Those who come here and say he is heavilly medicated, Well I have seen junkies who are heavilly medicated and they sure cannot type nor have the inclination or thoughts to type when they are nodding and heavy medication usually keeps people from showing that kind of hate/anger. In fact being heavilly medicated is an indication of slowness of thought and dulling of pain, both mental and physical so that it is not an excuse acceptable to one whose family is threatened. This is something that when you marry you promise to honor and obey and protect for as long as you live.
Anyone said those kind of things to someone in person would get slapped upside their heads real fast with a slow brick or busted for saying them.
and one person here repsonding at his request had put Mr. G's his url at the bottom of several of his posts , later changing it to the little guy ad and then linolium, And Mr. G. is in Florida and he is also the Master Grower, he signs his name as such at his site. He is not in Switzerland as he says and this is his cover in case of legal action probably thinking that no one would call the cops over his crazy shit.

I tend to agree with you here. I was a sever pill junkie for like 15 years, and on most of my pill bingies people that didnt know what I was on thought that I was drunk...
...AND this is what bothers me. I remember going thru sever withdrawl many times, and believe me... I was a total unrational dick when I was jonesing. When I got a new script I was everyone's best friend... etc..
Also we dont know what scripts he is on. We can certainly asume drugs such as strong pain killing narcotics, tranqalizers, muscle relaxers (Soma (c)'s fucked me up bad) etc... But, what if he is on drugs for mental problems or perhaps even prescription speed. Not to mention what would the effects off so many possible meds being combined with 'SHROOMS and/or booze would be?
I think it's impossible to know the effects of his meds, 'cuz we dont know everthing (anything?) that he might be ingesting.
Other than that I agree with you man!
