Exactly! The problem is not that we are constantly consciously thinking of our impending death, but that we are trying to avoid the thought at all costs. We sanitize death, calling the mortuary to deal with our dead loved ones, not even looking at them until they have been made up to look alive again. We ignore clear signals from our bodies that our lifestyle habits are slowly killing us. Many of us never write a will or obtain life insurance, even when we have a family counting on us to provide for them.

It is the avoidance of full death-awareness which drives us.

I believe you are correct. And if we could accept our death without anxiety the human world would be transformed. My guess is the change would be beyond the scope of anything we currently believe possible.

I don't think the world is ready and I don't know if I am. I will find out. :mushroom2:

I agree whole heartedly.

"A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda
