Dream research topic
    #6260449 - 11/08/06 05:17 AM (14 years, 6 months ago)

I got a 10 page research essay assigned to me the other day. We get to pick our topic and it needs to be based around one "burning question."

I want to do dreaming, cause it's a subject along with mushrooms that I am very interested in.

So far I got it narrowed down to "How do we interpret what our dreams mean?

I am not a fan of those books that give you cliche symbols in your dreams for example a snake in your dream means you're jealous of someone. or something like that, you get the picture.

Anyways, I need some suggestions of "burning questions," since this isn't quite where I wanna be going with 10 pages worth of writing and a few weeks of research (books and articles also, not just online)

any feedback is welcome. thanks.

I don't think dreams are any more meaningful than waking events. They have meaning in themselves, but aren't trying to communicate a message. Dreams are another level of experience, not prophecies. I don't know how that helps you but it's relevant...

Do it on the dream research of Dr. Robert Monroe at the Monroe Institute. This guy wrote 3 books about it, they all are all mind blowing reads. He found that you can take several people, put them in separate rooms and play a very specific frequency tone in there ear while they sleep. They will end up in the same dream scape together and report the same events happening there upon awakening while they are kept separate so they are not able to corroborate. He also found that certain specific frequency tones can return you to the same place, where you can often find the same character/beings inhabiting them and he developed on going relationships with many of them and you get quite a look see into the other side as he meets up with souls moving in and out of the incarnational cycle, ETs just observing things here and well, its just mind blowing.

Fascinating stuff. He started this work in the 60s and died not to long ago yet the Institute still continues on with the research. Check it out for your paper.

Why do some dream lucid? (Know they are dreaming, when they do.)
When some never can recall it?

Does they "not dream like that", and/or do they just chose to forget all about it?
