Great Grafts!! * 1
    #6230221 - 10/31/06 09:18 AM (17 years, 4 months ago)

Okay, this is a post, in which I will show you some of my grafting progress to date. I had been keeping them in partial sunlight with supplemental flouros, but now I have these under a 150 HPS so they don't slow down. All of these are on perskiopsis, not sure which variety, it came in a trade.

Firstly, this is my most successful graft, a Peruvian Torch I planted from seed. Can't remember many details, but it's going real strong!
Before:
After:

Now here's my lophophora graft, doing well and already pupping. These were planted back in April and this was grafted on September 15.

Here's a rather recent graft of an Astrophytum Myrostigma. A week or two after it sprouted it looked a lot more pink than the other seedlings, so I grafted it in case it was a mutation. It hasn't really grown yet, so not sure...

Here's a Trichocereus Terscheckii graft, done at the same time as the lopho.

That's all for the grafts right now, but here's a couple pics of my Bridgesii seedlings, which look so awesome!

Thanks for looking! Peace - TT

Re: Great Grafts!! Just starting cacti [Re: ToolTroll]

Greetings to all.  Just found this place and am glad I did.  Got a couple seedlings started.  Haven't found much info on growing and keeping them alive.  Lost one.  Too dry.  I was worried about the root rot deal.  They're Lophos and still very tiny.  One is about 1 month and appears healthy.  It's almost as big around as a pencil eraser and maybe about 3/8 inch in diameter.  The other is only a week or so and is still just a green dot.  Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

The shrooma :tongue2:

Great looking plants you have there.

How old are those Bridgesii seedlings?

Excellent grafts. Grafting is what I enjoy most about growing cacti. There's a certain satisfaction to be had when a successful graft "takes off", showing unnaturally healthy, rapid growth. Good luck, please update in the future.

Just did two new grafts. They look like they have taken and fused well. Now time will tell if i hit the sweet spot and got the lines conected. First time with the perskiopsis, have always grafted on trichocerus stock.

ahhh i love it.

Cool. Thanks.
I have some Bridgesii seed that I'm going to plant soon and those give me a great idea of what to expect.
