Myco-bag: So many pins, so little mushrooms
    #625054 - 05/02/02 06:21 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

It is day #55 since innoculation. One of my bags finally has LODES of pins. Another has just a couple. It's been one week and the pins aren't much bigger. Is this normal? When incubating I kept the bags at about 83 degrees. I think I may have opened the box a little early, but I've kept the temperature at 75-78 degrees since full collinization. Is it possible that none of these pins will grow into full healthy mushrooms?

I'm probably just being impatient, but I keep losing faith. It's driving me crazy!!

lower your temp and what kind of light are you giving it. I have found that to be key.

I'm just using indirect sunlight. What do you use?

I don't think that the bags contaminate easily. However, out of four bags I only have two pinning after 56 days. Other people are having great success with them. I'm not giving up hope. Next time I'm going to try putting the collinized cakes in a Hydro-pod.
