Perlite??????? do i really need it?
    #624369 - 05/01/02 08:48 PM (21 years, 10 months ago)

correct me if Im wrong but perlite is used to retain moisture inside the chamber... making it easier to maintain a high humidity...

say I have no problem retaining a high humidity in my tank is perlite still needed?

my chamber at this point retains a humidity of 95% on its own...... i hjave more trouble lowering it then maintaining it...

please let me know exactly what the benefits of perlite are and if it is a must

thanks all!!

well, what are you doing to keep the humidity high then?
there are other methods to humidify, perlite is just one of them.

using water/peroxide mix in jar with air pump and air stone... it keeps humidity steady at 95% and is easy to control, my chamber seals well so humidity is not a problem....

If your humidity is 95% + your fine.

You can mist the sides of the fruiting chamber if the humidity goes down a little.... to increase the humidity.
