Chances of making it All Better

The earth is dying.

How do you foresee the future? How do you think it's gonna go down? Speak up.

Most likely in a religious war. Yes, it's all people fighting over this invisable, unprovable thing, no body knows were it is, but they have to die for it just becuase someone else said so. Stupid, thats what religion is. Now spirituality, that can be something different if you make it to be.

So do you think we will get wiped out completely? If not we will almost certainly do the whole thing over again in exactly the same way. With no records of past mistakes we're just going to do the whole damn thing again and again.

Is this the curse of the conscious entity?

how to take it to the edge and not fall back again..

No! It is the curse of the unconscious entity.

I think we won't get wiped away completly ... we'll be off pretty bad for awhile, then we'll make a mistake trying to make it better that will doom us beyond repair. Even if we recovered, i don't think we'd go through the exact same events all over again... humanity will become extinct, and the bugs will inherit the earth.

By the way, one thing likely to happen again is a failed ground assualt during the russia winter... seems to be popular in world wars...

"humanity will become extinct, and the bugs will inherit the earth."

Or humanity will evolve into reptillian hybrids to adapt to future earth changes... (Or I May Just Be The Anti-Christ)

I don't think the earth is dying.

I do think that George Bush believes in the Bible and revelations and I think that makes him dangerous. My take on the guy is that he thinks that he needs to help fulfill some Biblical destiny with Isreal. That and the fact that he ignores the constitution along with 99% of the politicians in this country makes me see rough times ahead. Oh, I didn't mention all the fucking morons who either explicitly or implicitly look at things the same way. It sets up the possiblity for a self fulfilling prophecy (but without the rapture and God coming down to save everybody). We could be on the eve of a new dark ages, where religion reigns supreme in the minds of the ignorant masses.

But as with every adversity there are also opportunities. Perhaps this will bring a wake up call for people to renounce faith in government and centralized power, realizing that it is the source of more misery than anything since religious control of the masses (one can only hope). People need to realize that they need to learn to save themselves and not look to god or government to do it for them, otherwise they will continue to repeat the same mistakes.

End of rant.

There was some speculation in a national geographic of the predicted trackings of a particular dynosaur... they said it would walk upright, have greenish skin and a tail, be about 8-12 feet tall (depending on how it stood) Anyway, the reason why this was beign tracked was becuase of some research which i don't even recall, but the point is that the picuture looked eerily like a human, classic Bi-ped. They did a whole thing on how this would probably be the creature that would become the dominant species if man never EVOLVED (sorry, i felt the need to CAP that word) and if there were no mass extinction of dinosaurs...

No, You're not the Anti-Christ, I am. Or at the very least, the Anti-Christian.

No miracle about it. That's the natural result of being consistent in your principles and your thought processes.

No! It is the curse of the unconscious entity.

Not really though... every other species in the animal kingdom has maintained the balance with nature. Seems like the ego was a bit of a mistake on evolution's part. I don't really believe that though, I think we will eventually learn to live in harmony with the earth, it's just going to get worse before it gets better. Have you ever read Ishmael? I just finished reading it. It's good.

When you say that the earth is dying....do you mean Gaia?
The future?
Pretty much the same with ever increasing advances in technology and of course moves toward artifical intelligence.
Man will continue to increase his understanding of his environment.

Then its going to blow.....or more rightly.....fold up and collapse in on itself. I don't think any of us has to worry about being around then though......

Look on the bright side......the end of the world for each of us will come at the end of our life!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, earth is dying.
Future?
Uh I believe that mankind will (like cancer) die with its host(earth).
Im not optimist I guess.
Most likely we will end in some big war.

Man only thinks he is increasing his understanding of his environment.
If he truly understood he would not continue to fuck it up!

I have a fear (not unfounded I don't think) that a religious fanatic from some Middle Eastern country is going to get hold of a nuclear bomb and set off something big. If the US had one of its major cities destroyed I don't know how we'd vent our anger, but I'm sure it wouldn't be pretty.

But this is worst case scenario. I think that humans do have the good sense to survive annhilation. If we can last a few hundred more years, we'd hopefully have established self-sufficient colonies elsewhere in the solar system so that a global catastrophy won't mean the end of the species.
