I used organic popcorn kernels as substrate. It worked okay, but not exceptionally well. The casing was a 50/50 verm to peat moss, and i added hydrated lime. The environment is moist. I try to keep the RH up as high as I can. I am running an old humidifier, and also have one tray of perlite as you can see in the first picture. What would cause my shroomies to be sooo tiny?!

Never heard anything good about using Popcorn. You should consider WBS spawned to Hpoo. That's how you get the bigguns.

Spawn has nothing to do with size. I use popcorn and still get bigguns...

well, I want bigguns too! What is holding my pins back from becoming monsters? The mycelium underneath the surface is well developed, and I think in time that I will have many more! I'm new to the hobby, and am experimenting, seeing which method I like the best. The WBS to Hpoo sounds good, and I might try that one next time! Thanks! Those are done? You have to be kidding. this is only the 3rd day after pinning up, and theyre so small! What if I let them grow a little more? Good idea or bad?

What can I do to get a more even pinset? I mean, I have 4 tubs with good development, yet, only like 20 shrooms!

Those trays look kind of small like not deep enough. How deep would you say your substrate is? It should be atleast an inch thick, if its not then that would be one problem.
Spawning to h-poo is definatly a good idea, but a pretty hard technique. I would try spawning to coir first and then once you get that down you can upgrade to h-poo, but you probably wont even want to once you see the results from coir as a substrate.

Thanks guys! I have read Hyphae's pinning method. It is awesome. And for the other links, I'll read through those and see what I can put together for another try!
