Light Direction?

Well I just harvested my first crop. Pulled about 1.5 oz dry from twelve jars using the MMGG method and I am very pleased. Thank you everyone for your posts and feedback!

I was just wondering how much "light direction" mattered. My humidity chamber is a rubbermaid container (fed by an ultrasonic humidifer). Light comes in from the sides but not the top. Would it be worth cutting a hole in the lid and putting in a plexiglass window on top and maybe darkening the sides? I will be using the cake method again.

My shrooms from the last attempt were kind of curly and all over the place. Maybe light coming from the top will straighten them out a little?

The fruit tend to grow towards the light. If you want the fruit to start growing up instead of towards the sides you would need to have the light overhead and the sides darkened somehow. If the way they grew was fine, then don't change a thing. :smile:
