Harvesting and Aborts..
    #6236387 - 11/01/06 09:41 PM (14 years, 6 months ago)

OK so i just finished harvesting my first flush. Unfortunately i have about a million aborts everywhere. How anal should I be about picking every single tiny abort???

I mean there are a ton.. Ive already got most of the big ones.. but there are tiny ones here and there that i might be missing.

For the record, I would show you my butthole but you would fall down and worship it as a God and you would give up everything to roam the land converting the heathens by fire and sword. Millions would die. No, no the cost is too great. I cannot.

rule of thumb - if the abort is big enough that you can pluck it off with your fingers, without disturbing the casing surrounding it, pick it off.  smaller than that, leave it alone.  by the time the next flush comes around, they'll have disappeared... mycelium comes up from underneath and chows 'em down... damnned cannibals i tell you...

I was wandering the same thing the other day. My first successful casings recently. Also, after a flush is harvested, Are you supposed to mist the casing top for the next couple days or so?

I have had aborts that I try and pick and they just break off in the middle and I just kinda end up taking off the top half.I never mess with the stubbies left in the casing and they never seem to cause any problems but usually when I see aborts its after a few flushes anyway and the casing is almost done
