identification please

I found these mushrooms on a golf course, in short grass in Brighton, Sussex, UK. I am wondering whether they are the type of magic mushroom 'Pcyan Cyanescens' as shown on

http://www.canedintotnes.co.uk/mushrooms/feb01.htm

They look pretty similar, but the thing that bothers me is that I did not find these growing in tree bark, but rather in open shortish grass. I have included a photo and here are some other specs...

Stem width: 4-8mm depending on size of shroom
Cap diameter: 5-10mm depending

The top of the cap is roughly circular, tending to be slightly concaved and undulating. When picked it is close to white but with a slight hint of brown. Over the next few days they become more brown in colour.

The underside of the cap has a wavy striated pattern. It is paler than the top - virtually white when picked.

They bruise brown

Also, I'm trying to find liberty caps in Sussex and finding it stupidly difficult this year! What is going on? Is anybody else out there finding the same difficulties down here? Is there ANYWHERE within a couple of hours driving from Brighton that is rife????

An identification would be much appreciated

Sweet

Never heard of a "Pcyan cyanescens" before.

Personally, I wouldn't give that website you liked too much credit.

The correct name for the mushrooms you are looking for are called "Psilocybe cyanescens".

Do a quick search here (located at the top of the page) and type in "cyans, cyanescens" and you'll find a TON of pictures and will show you more what you should be looking for.

The mushrooms you've found I am unsure of...but, they are definetly of no use to you.
