Contams? what are my options

I believe I have just noticed my first ever contaminations. I created my own spore syringe (from a print I had made) and used it to inoculate about 10 jars. I believe I might have injected too much of the spore solution into the jars and the substrate was very wet at the inoculation sites and delayed the colonization process. I finally noticed some mycellium growth after about 8 days, im 100% postive the mycellium is growing as it is very white and rhizomorphic. However, today I looked at the jars and noticed that there were some greenish/gray spots in the damper areas of the jars (in addition to the pretty white mycellium). I was almost sure that this is contamination, but I thought I would ask some of you experts before I junk the jars. Is it possible that the discolored areas are mycellium that has gotten too wet and died? Or have my fears of contamination finally come true?
I tried to take some pics with my digital camera, but the camera performs very poorly at such close distances and all of the pics turned out horribly unfocused.
If this is contamination, which I am almost positive of, what should I do with these cakes? I've heard of people taking contaminated cakes and dumping them outside and then they accidentally fruit. Should I trash these cakes or can anything useful come of them?
Thanks for everyone's help.

I would seperate any suspect jars from the rest and watch them for a few more days to see if it is contamination or not. If it goes away, or doesn't grow, you are probably fine. If it continues to grow and isn't the mycelium you want, I would toss the jar. My first success at growing contamination came after I made my first syringe as well. It takes practice and experience to get everything correct... don't give up!
