Should I remove aborts as they are identified or at the end of a flush? what about mutated shrooms? are they still okay to eat and leave growing?

Yes you should remove them as you see them so they dont rot on the cake, and yes I am pretty sure its ok to let a mutated shroom grow and to eat them.

Wait until the rest of the fruits are mature, then remove aborts with the flush. In all my years, I've never seen them cause problems by 'rotting'. They revert back to mycelium and 'disolve'. 'Rot' indicates bacteria, which is rarely a problem with cased substrates even if bacteria is present. Sometimes, we hear or read something so many times it 'seems' true, but that doesn't make it so.
