clumpy manure after pasteurization
    #6222853 -

after i pasteurize my hpoo substrate and squeeze out any excess water, its extremely difficult to break up the hpoo. theres always lots of clumpy nuggets in there that would take forever to break up by hand.
does anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it?
maybe it isnt much of a problem but it just seems that mycelium would only be able to feed on the surface of the clumps. its like the manure equivelant of wood chips

You probably forgot to add gypsum.

Holy dog shit! Texas? Only steers and queers come from Texas, Private Cowboy. And you don't look much like a steer to me so that kinda narrows it down. Do you suck dicks?

Correct. I assumed he had broken it up well before. Gypsum keeps the manure nice and fluffy and loose afterwards. Many hobby growers skip this step, but it really helps. I don't know of any commercial ops that don't use gypsum. It's well worth the few seconds it takes to add.

Don't forget cheap. A 40-50 pound bag of gypsum can be had at any gardening center for around $15.00. Lasts for months.
