Has anyone experimented with adding antibiotics to the substrate? I know that sporeworks sells something but I'm not sure what it is exactly. A friend has a bunch of boxes of 50cc bottles of liquid Gentamicin. Is there a formula for calcuating the effective dose for use in agar or substrate? Any data would be much appreciated!

I use gentamicin sulfate in most of my agar solutions, but I try to limit its use as much as possible. I am not an expert, but I would not recommend using it with a substrate. I would be worried about growing super-bacteria that becomes immune to the antibiotic. Instead, I would improve my sterilization techniques.
