I asked them a similar question-whether Mexicana A would work, and was told that they can fill the bag with the right type of grain if you ask. Of couse, that doesn't answer your question.
There are two types of bags. One is grain, the other has a grain pocket that you innoculate, and then mix with the compost in the bottom of the bag.
AFOF was thinking about trying them.

My friend is working with two types Bluethumbs bags... The rye bags which we inncoculated 43 days ago.. fully colonized no sign of pins yet. I m thinking of dunking them to see if they ll pin. He is using PB in those bags, AND also using 5 Bluethumbs compost bags with Pan Trops. Rye packets colonized withing 7 days and tipped into the compost about 8 days ago... Good mycelium growth on top of the compost but will be a few weeks at least before ready to introduce light to them and see if they ll pin. I m very hopeful they will. I dont know why the PB didnt pin because they colonized very quickly and I thought everything was going according to plan. Sporeworks myco bags also used with some PB and some B+ 42 days ago.. on second flush. I think if you re going to use Bluethumbs bags that the compost ones are the way to go.

My friends uncle is currently using the compost bags. He tried three bags with Pan Trops.
One of them, the rye did not colonize. The other two were fine. He dumped the rye. Let one sit for 3 days then massaged(good growth throughout after 8 days). The other let it sit for 8 days so far without massaging(good growth on top). He said he will massage after the recommended ten days. He received a recommendation from a certain Dr., "dump rye/let sit for 10 days/massage to move things around/wait five days/massage again/let sit until 90% colonized then fruit".
He said it is hard to see growth through the bag because the mycelium is so fine
and delicate. Any suggestions for what to look for to conclude that it is 90% colonized? Thanks.

One bag made it. The other one turned out to have a broken seal at the top and it dryed out and/or got contaminated. Here is a pic. of the bag that made it. Put it in a tray and cased. This is 3 days after casing runnout. Does anyone know how long it takes for Pans to pin after introducing light?

So out of 3 bags only 1 made it? Man that sucks. I hope thats not the standard.

Yes but, probably not the standard. It turned out that the bags that did not make it were popped. I was shipped 5 bags and 3 gal of casing. Everything was loosely packed when shipped. So the large bag of casing was acting like a battering ram during shipping and it popped 3 of the 5 bags. Dr. Blue was informed of this and he replaced the popped ones and threw in a couple extra. I still think he has a decent product and his customer service is great. The packing could be improved though,

I don't doubt his customer service I have seen it first hand. Unless someone carries a product he dosn't I won't go elsewhere. I've got some of these on the way and am just curious how they are working. Why did you decide to case instead of growing them in the bag?
