My brother is a schizophrenic. This is because he messed around with psychedelics.
There's no better word for it. He messed around. Youth! Fucking curiosity!
Man I'm stoned.
So he ate psychedelics and played guitar and went "insane."
what, should everyone have the power to do this? to go "insane?" bob took LSD and played guitar and found that it was much weirder and more fascinating and worthwhile to focus in on his own trip than to conform to anybody else's, especially consensual societal perant conditioning march propoganda endearment enchantment enslavement ensefolophogus.
word. amen. um...

damn , not deep. i am insane , we are all insane get used to it , cause not comforming still means your comforming to not comforming , so conform to this : savvy use of drugs and moderation are key. period.
i am so drunk.

Nice nice no soberness here...
Drugs can bring out an underlying condition... not create it...

Lots of people become alcoholics and ruin their liver because they drink. Lots of people get lung cancer because they smoke. Yet, these aren't controlled substances.
Lots of people also become dealers and flow more money into the black market by selling controlled substances.
I don't want to be of any offense but I don't think the drugs are really to blame. Drugs only amplify our pursuit of life, whether it amplifies our search for a meaning of life and takes us so deep we lose connection with what the world calls 'reality', or if it helps us rise up against our former closed-minded, perhaps depressed or misunderstood selves. The same drugs that people bash and hate can end up saving your loved ones, or even your, life.
Always try and see things more optimistically than usually.

I'm gonna have to agree with lsg, I have a lot to thank psychedelic drugs for, I am a much happier, wiser, empathetic, person than I was bfore I took my first acid trip... schitzophrenia has completley different 'symptoms' on each side of the world, what is considered a 'psychotic break' by western standards, could be considered a spiritual breakthrough by other parts of the globe.
I think anyone effected by 'schitzophrenia' whether you yourself have been diagnosed, someone you're close to was diagnosed, or you're just intereted in it, should read this... Don't have to agree with it, but it's an important wiew point in my opinion. Hope this link helps somebody.

A quote from the above link:
'Sample testimony [by Chris]: "It certainly feels more like an initiation of some kind. For all the pain it has brought me, I wouldn't be without it, as it has made me so much more aware of a lot of things."
"To be honest, I don't think your average psychiatrist really has a clue. My psychiatrist has never even read any Jung. It's impossible for me to respect that, and dangerous for me to allow him to administer drugs that affect my mind. It is, after all, my mind. My medication makes me very lethargic, but I'm bullied into taking it, and my appeals to reduce it, gradually, aren't considered. People are horrified at the thought of Medieval tooth-pullers, and I think as we learn more about the mind, in years to come people will feel much the same way about our psychiatrists. My doctor kept trying to make me believe that the things I was seeing and hearing and feeling were delusions. But what I was experiencing was real, in the truest sense of the word."'
psychedelics do the same thing.
-------------------- Nothing is true, everything is permissible. Our laws make law impossible; our liberties destroy all freedom; our property is organized robbery; our morality an impudent hypocrisy; our wisdom is administered by inexperienced or mal-experienced dupes; our power wielded by cowards and weaklings; and our honour false in all its points. I am an enemy of the existing order for good reasons.

All drugs need some form of control.
The fact that they are illegal makes them accessable to anyone with the money to buy them.
Legalizing them will allow much better control of all recreational drugs.

Without a doubt it can be a self-consuming cycle, however. Someone with depression could take LSD, freak out, see the artificial nature of most of modern human life, and then continue taking LSD because they think it's enlightening them when, in all actuality, it's just driving them into deeper insanity and depression.

Perhaps people who "go insane" deserve it. If you're not aware or cautious you're going to have to deal with the consequences. C'est la vie.

hallucinogens is really wrong terminology, i'll explain why.
anyone familiar with the psychedelic experience will notice the dissolution of boundaries, personal, cultural, national, and global.
speaking for mushrooms and LSD respectively, although they do bend visual and auditory input to the brain, at the center of experience they really act as de-hallucinogens.
because what they do is strip away the programs and linguistic structures which we are constantly exposed to since the moment of birth. they remove these labels and present to us the raw perception of the world.
take a bird for example, as a child when you saw a bird fly above, you probably perceived it as what it simply appeared to be, until your mother or father came along, pointed at it, and said to you, "that's a bird".
and that's what you became to know it as, a bird.
on psychedelics, this label is dissolved and what suddenly was once a "bird" is now that which is what it is for itself. no label, just being, pure reality.
a hallucination is generally defined as an illusory perception. however the psychedelics display that this is in fact quite the opposite,
that they are actually de-hallucinatory in nature.
