hey whats up? its my first time groing shrooms, and i wanted to know if whats in my jars is contamination. the stuff thats in there looks like mylicuim, only ALOT thinner and not nearly as concentrated. it is also a dark yellow?-pale color. wherever it touches the healthy mylicium-the healthy stuff seems to be more concentrated,(is if it is trying to defend itself?). has anyone had the same shit growing in their jars? what should i do?

Your description is kind of confusing. Could you try to describe it a little more detailed? You might get some answers that way.

Thats pretty much all i can say about it, but since i first posted this, it seems like the mycelia kicked this other stuffs ass whatever it was, and the jar used to have this dirty sock smell but now its gone and so is the mysterious grey shit.
i wonder if the mushrooms that cake would still be same to eat? hmm..

The dirty sock, rotten apple, burning bacon, etc smells are usually a sign of bacterial contamination. I personally wouldn't risk my health and would chuck anything that had this smell, even if it recovers, into the trash.
