i Need Help in the Drying and Preserving of my Mushrooms.
i've read the MMGG, and it's become my bible.
i've checked in the paint departments of hardware stores, and have went into a paint devoted store (colour your world)
but when i ask them for a "carton of Damp-Rid or Damp-be-Gone (Anhydrous calcium chloride)" or something that would dryout a damp closet, no of them had any clue to what i was talking about.
i live in canada, so if anyone knows any stores, or ways of asking to get this product, i'd appreciate it a great deal

when i go to canadian tire, or to the cleaning supplies. what do u ask for?
what do you say?
where's the damp rid?
or do u say something in relation to a car, say u need something to be dried out. if the clerk asks me what i need it for, what should i say?

Go to a craft shop. Buy some silica gel flower drying crystals. Be sure to fan dry first and don't let the shrooms touch whatever you use.

what i meant is, in what instance, would a drying product be used, for it to be in a auto department.
for instance i went into the paint store and said i needed to dryout a damp closet before i was to paint it. if i went in to the auto department, what could i use as an excuse, so he'd know what i want. do i said i need something to take the moisture out of my engine, or what. i dont what to just say take the moisture out of the air, because thats getting vaige, and he may recommend something i dont want.
got suggestions?

I too was looking for dessicant and went to almost every department store looking.... could never find it...till one guy said that i was in the wrong department.... instead of looking in the painting department look in the cleaning department.... once i started looking there I found it. ask for it by name DampRid is what I use...

You can also use epsom salt to dry with. Bake it in the over to make sure there is no moisture in it. Then you can use it to dry with. And you can find it almost anywhere...

MAN I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN!!!!!.l had to drive 3hrs.to find most of my shit.......I still haven't found CRUSHED OYSTER SHELLS ...........Whatever the fuck that is,!!!!!!!!!!........Everywhere I went they asked me WHAT DO YOU WANT IT FOR!!!!!!!!.......YOUR ON THE SPOT......!!!!!!! Duuuuuuuugggghhhhhhh.......My wife grows flowers...........I just heard roses love the shit!!!!!........ I work for a contractor and was told to pick this shit up.....I heard more stories then you can imagine...............THERES NO SUCH THING.................THIS IS BETTER..........TRY THIS..........HERES SOME CHICKEN FEED THAT CONTAINS 15% OF THAT.............There should be a guide what all this shit is used for so a guy woudn't feel like such a fuck up when they ask ya that!!!!!..........GOOD LUCK >>>>>>>>>IF YOU FIND CRUSHED FUCKING OYSTER SHELLS LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
