ok I've searched the fourms but i couldn't find the answer.
I was wondering when i mist do i spray at the cakes or do i spray over them and let the water fall like rain into the chamber? I've been spraying them directly and adding a little water on the top of each cake leting it absorb. Am i messing up?
Thanks in advance

I usually spray over the cakes and then spray the walls of my tub. you shouldn't spray on the cakes or add water on top of them.

never spray cakes directly. you can spray a casing directly, only until myc appears. spraying the walls or spraying in the air and letting it fall will work fine. The water top of the cake...i wouldnt do that. Remember a drop of water is like a pond to mycelium. Also make sure your using a 5% solution of 3%peroxide, little more or less will be fine also. -steve-

Where do you guys get this stuff? A casing can, and should, be misted through pinning and up 'til harvest. Mushrooms love water! Don't mist directly; mist the air above and allow the water to settle.

If theres no damage done now to the top of your cakes then youll be fine if you just stop that.

If you read his post once more, i think you will see it says "Don't mist directly"
I wouldn't spray the casing point blank, its really not needed.

LOL why the fuck wouldnt you spray a casing layer that isnt colonized directly. is it going to contam it. is it going to kill the mycelium underneath? "never spray cakes directly. you can spray a casing directly, only until myc appears. spraying the walls or spraying in the air and letting it fall will work fine." After myc appears, on a casing, dont spray directly, thats all that means. OR You can spray the casing directly, untill myc appears. God damn. whats so hard about that.

Experienced statement. My 1st grow I misted until pinning then stopped, yield was great. 2nd time no misting what so ever, just made sure water content was right in bulk sub and casing and had a tremendous 1st flush, size down abit but 5 times the knotting! Misting in my opinion optional.

After pins are set you need to mist again! Also experienced cultivators can mist (ALWAYS INDIRECTLY!) right through the primordial formation stage although it will be very light and fine. GL

Read hypae's critically acclaimed pinning strategy
I am a strong advocate with light misting EVERY day with my ace misting pump you need to mist everyday once in the FC IMO love water, they suck all that water right up, all 92% of them
you just dont want any standing water, thats when you know you misted too much
