im sick of this guy spreading misinformation about liberty caps round the shroomery...
most of his pics (im sure u will agree) are NOT liberty caps...
however there are a couple of possible libs mixed in there.
ive invited him many times to post his own thread about this subject but he refuses to do so and much prefers to flame up other peoples liberty cap threads, so i shall post em.

please leave your comment about the mushrooms pictured below which he continues to claim are liberty caps.

About blue libs, I've found one in August. That was my first lib of the season. The shape looked weird also:







funny how u were "fascinated" by my finds until i told u that your "blue liberty cap" is infact NOT a liberty cap,
only a fool could mistake that blue mushroom for psilocybe semilanceata.

and if u think any of those mushrooms in that picture i took are libs, then u are mistaken again.
i used that picture in one of my posts as an example of wot NOT to pick.
thats a pile of mushrooms i found disgarded in a field, obviously someone who didnt know wot they were picking realised that they picked the WRONG mushroom.
shame u cant admit the same.

im sick of u tryin to tell me wot are and are not liberty caps,
u dont have the first clue as is clear from the photos which u have posted.
and im hoping lots of people will post here and make it quite clear to u that u are wrong.

spreading the wrong information about any mushroom is stupid not to mention dangerous.
u shouldnt be identifying liberty caps. :thumbdown:


now i invite u all to take a look at my liberty cap photos. LIBERTY CAPS
theres around 100 pics there from the last month, u will see liberty caps in all the funky shapes and sizes available, from immature pins to very large mature specimens.
as im sure u can gather from my gallery i do know wot i am talking about.

Grib_iz_Pitera is wrong...liberty caps are nearly THE most consistent of any species of psilocybe around the world..the look almost identical here in Northern California as the do in UK, NZ, Finland, and most of Europe...

The only difference here, is that I've seen some fields where they are thicker than, say, Washington variety)...Er..the stems are thicker....These liberties out here grow really rubbery...almost like boing boing boing...Those photos above may look like liberties, and they may even be a psilocybe, possibly a new specie..It looks more like Paneolous to me..The stems are way to brown...the ring around the stem, forget it

uarewotueat < right, you don't shread caps with liberties like you can with paneaolus...paneaolus are much more fragile and you can literally squeeze those into a mush between you thumb and forefinger.

not so with most liberties...Liberty Caps are tougher than that..much more density..

It's close tho...I can see why amateurs would think those were them, but that ain't them..

In fact, it's really good to see this, because most people assume that liberties are the most easily identified of all psilocybes out there, and it's true..

also to Grib_iz_Pitera < you wanna really prove it? you forgot the pellicle

next time you're out there or can find these again, do this...If they are white like the above photos, wet them again...drip some water on them to make them wet, wait a few minutes for the mushroom to absorb then take a pin, or a toothpick, and carefully lift the pellicle and seperate it from the cap..

don't know what a pellicle is Grib_iz_Pitera?

i'd love to see him get a pellicle separated from those inactive pans too :thumbup:

i think my mushrooms from today are too dry already to demonstrate that with a pic... but i will next time.

I'd like to hear replies from at least few of these trusted people. All replys from uarewotueat' friends I read here cannot be taken into account in this dispute. Unfortunately for me, here are no another active user from my area of Russia who could confirm my words about that wide-capped semilanceata strain growing here. Astraalialma is my closest geographic neighbour from this forum, I'd like to hear his opinion also.. People, believe me, I can distingush a fragile panaeolus from tight and unbreakable psilocybe, I know that specific smell of psilocybes, I'm in doubt about the blue one but I'm ready to confirm under oath those five were libs, I ate them and tripped, Donnerwetter!
If you haven't such a strain in your location that doesn't mean it's not exist.

I hope I have a chance to do more quality photos of such mushrooms, instead of that hazy webcam shots. In case you will not recognize they are libs, we're living on different planets and having different logic..

Uarewotueat, Being A lib mower doesn't mean being THE lib master..
Moreover, you published a part of my private message, that's a breaking of forum rules and a dirty behaviour at all!

im not his friend, and i can say you at least took yourself a step too far, by repeatedly attacking this member with your slander.

if i were him i would have made a post to get attention too, except it would have been in WA&F, since its clear you wont get over whatever it is you have against him and move on.

if your not realizing this yourself, more people need to make your realize it.

I can understand you wanting the opinion of the people in that list, they have been around for a long time and have been prooven to know their stuff, but there are plenty of others with valuable input and experience, even if they didnt make the cut. :wink:

You take some good photos and you should really be looking into uarewotueats info - he does know his stuff and he can help you out. The libs in russia will look very similar to the libs anywhere else, its a very dependable psilocybe, so arm yourself with some photos and get back out there.
