    #621054 - 04/28/02 03:29 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

i was wonering if it was okay to inject distlled h2o2 mix into the jars. i inoculated 3 days ago the wheat and dung substrate look extremly dry. there is already mycelial growth but i am afraid that it will stop if there is not enough moisture in the jar to last incubation period. let me know if you have any advise on this

thank you so much

Well any thing you add at this point can not be fixed if you mess up. In my own opinion I would say dont mess with them dunk them after birth if you think they are dry. If one happens to stall before 110% colonized cut off the uncolonized section in sterile enviroment and then dunk birth. The only reason i say dont add the water is that it is best to leave them alone after they been sterlized in the jars easy to contam jars when you mess with them alot. But then again if you feel confident enough in your clean room then add small amounts in various spots like a couple cc's here a coupls cc's there. If you add all the water to one spot you will have a big wet spot in that part of the substrate. If you absolutely feel you must add water make sure everthing is clean.
