Hydrofarm Seedling Heat Mat costs about $25 from garden supply places. It's black rubber, waterproof, and keeps whatever is sitting on top of it 10 degrees warmer than surrounding temps. Doesn't overheat like a heating pad sometimes does.

Incubating at lower temperatures doesn't increase potency, jars don't take twice as long to colonize at 70, and you should never heat a fruiting chamber unless you want all your humidity to condense on the walls and run to the floor. Heat the whole room the FC is sitting in. Around 70 is perfect. RR

No real cheap, but safe, easy to set/use & great quality.
Google around for a new one, or check ebay. (ebay search words "pelonis disc".)

small fan heaters are great since the thermostat keeps the closet at a constant temperature. also if you decide to put monotubs in the closet, the air flow in the cupboard is good for FAE through the polyfill holes. when talking about risk of fire, anything that generates heat is a potential fire hazard. for example, if an aquarium heater heatbomb leaked water and is exposed to dry air, these things get HOT! i took mine out my TIT to add more water. a min later i smell burning and noticed it melted a huge hole in my carpet. im not saying this is likely going to happen but it just goes to show that everything has its risks.

yeah, that's why carpet should not be allowed in the grow/Incubation area.
everything is concrete and brick in my setup. Easy to mop up and clean.
