humidity for small grow chamber

i have a small like plastic food dish used to hold like sub meat and stuff like that from the little chicago deli and im going to use it to grow one cake in it i was wonderin if it will humidify itself because its about 8 in tall and like 5 1/2 6 inch square shaped container of if i could maybe cut small pieces of sponge soaked in water....and if it doesnt need the sponge, could the sponge idea be used in a bigger set-up? -SLiNk

just use perlite and water!! good luck
