is there any alternatives in grinding it?? i couldnt find pre ground rice at the place i got it at so that wasnt an option..

It probably won't hurt anything, but if you want, you could put a small handfull in, and run it through several times. That should clean out most of the debris.
Then toss the small handfull of rice flour you used to clean it out. I've used mine to grind kava kava. MAN what a RACKET! It's like grinding wood chips.

After reading your thread i broke out my grinder. It's a salton. It has a detatchable miller, so I took it out and blew it out with some can o' air i had for cleaning the dust out of my computer. You might be able to use that.

I have kinda a dumb question, do you even have to grind the brow rice? Just wash it good, mix your verm and water, then stick it in the pc? instead, use a larger amount of the rice?

If you didn't grind the brown rice you would have to pre cook it.
whole brown rice wouldn't cook in the substrate mix inside the pressure cooker.

I read about a guy using coffee beans as a substrate so dont sweat it if you get a few coffee bean crumbs in your mix.

just buy a burr grinder for your BRF.
best $24.95 you will spend.
