Alright I'm a little new at this so I thought I would ask the experts for any feedback (good or bad) on my terrarium setup. I have a Sterilite plastic container with dimensions 23 1/4" x 17" x 12". I modified the lid with clear plasitc for light, sealed with silicone. I decided to use a bed of substrate and casing opposed to cakes. So I used an air to bed ratio of 5:1, thus leaving just under 2 1/2" of substrate and casing and roughly 9 1/2" of free air space. I placed an exhuast hole on the side around 2 1/2" above the bottom of container (not the substrate) 1/4" in diam. for air exchange. For humidity, I am using an ultra-sonic humidifier connected to a vertical 1/2" pvc that has a valve on the end to adjust humidity levels. Connected to the vertical pvc I have a horizontal 1/2" pvc going through the terrarium (sealed with silicone on both sides of course) with evenly spaced holes that are 4" apart and .196" in diam. Also the horizontal pvc has an exhaust vent that can be opened and closed. For temp control I plan to use a heating pad underneath the terraium. There is a digital humidty/temp gauge inside the terrarium. I have not starting using the terrarium just yet for pinning and fruiting so I don't know how the temp and humidity levels will be inside the terrarium. I planned to sterilize the inside of the terrarium with an H2O2/water mix ran through the humidifying system for about 48 hours before using the terrarium. Any comments or suggestions about this set-up would be great.

careful that your set-up for your ultra-sonic doesnt restrict airflow too much, this guy i knew had one burn out from what he thinks was too much backpressure

i personnally prefer perlite. i started to use a humidifier with a humidity tent i made but i didn't have the resources to experiment and fail and decided not to fix what wasn't broke.i'd love to hear how it works out though.
