peruvian torch????
    #617934 - 04/25/02 12:20 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

So i just got a 14 in peruvian torch in the mail and it has root on the bottom. If anyone could tell me proper care for this specimen I would appreciate it. Also I dont know how much of it your supposed to eat for a good trip(level 4). And if it is possible to cut part of the cactus off for consumption and then plant the rest and how would one go about doing so? Thanks in advance

Caring for the torch is easy. Get a pot a 1"-2" greater in diameter than the cactus is. Fill this with decent cactus soil (Shultz brand works well). Keep the cactus where it can recieve 3-4 hours or direct sunlight and during it's active growing season, water every week to two weeks and fertilize with a cactus fertilizer every third watering. Water about once a month during it's dormant period. You should then have a very happy cactus. When you take a cutting, cut at a low angle about 4"-6" above the soil level and it will eventually produce pups.
