Weili's in the suburbs

Maybe the Liazard King can help answer this question. I was just wonderin if there would be a chance I would come across weili's looking around grass where houses are being built in a suburb about 20 min north of ATL? Thanks

I could be mistaken... but it does seem as if I recall him saying that there found north of Alanta.

They can be found both south and north of ATL, I find them about 30 miles directly east of ATL, they were discovered in cherokee county north of atlanta, and have been reported in macon far south of atlanta. They have a fairly wide range. Your best bet would be looking in lawns of houses built in the past 3-8 years. They don't start fruiting until late may/early june.

I doubt that they would appear where houses are being built. They are more likely to appear in areas where homes have new gardens already built and muclched in for at least a half year or so in order for the mycellium to grow completely in the area one is looking.

Still not sure of a natural habitat, but in man made environments shrooms grow abundantly.

Of course I have not collected Weilii yet but mayube will someday when I cisit my sister in Florida and I can travel north to Georgia.
