Well of course not.  But 10lb is a bit light, depending on the expedition.  I know that I do a lot of wet weather hiking, so the raintarp always has to be with me, as well as heavy dry clothing (don't forget, you're wearing a decent amount of weight too if it's wet and cold).

I usually try to bring 2 people along, and the total weight is 35lb a person.

I'm claustrophibic, so it's forced me to buy the larger 3 person 4 season tent. :P

Also, are hammocks that comfortable?  You always have to lie on your back, right?

I want to incorperate 4 season with lightweight.  I'm working on getting better at it.

I can sleep on my side in my hammock and I'd have to say yes they are that comfortable, beats any thermarest I've ever slept on and mine can also turn into a chair with the tarp over it. My only
problem with hamoocks is your bags tempature rating raises dramatically being off the ground and with out the air barrier sleep pads offer. Some people cut up thermarest so they fit inside the
hammock, which I think looks very uncomfortable. You can also purchase underquilts but they are very pricey.

I should mention that 10lbs is summer gear wieght, if it's dipping below 40 I'll probably have 3 more lbs. I usually don't carry much more than the clothes on my back besides a dry pair of shorts for
sleeping. I resort to crawling in my bag if all my clothes are soaked. That's the price I pay to shave a couple pounds though.

Ah, I didn't know how you'd sleep... But that still doesn't solve my claustrophibic problem, those things are superlight, but I freak out in small spaces haha.
