If BRF with its minimal nutrient content grows cubensis as potent as those grown on manure/rye/millet Id be VERY VERY surprised! Experience would tell me otherwise

wtf-i have z stra1n now-i would have to say that it colonizers quicker than any thing i have cultivated so far- i have about 20 new strains (or new to me)waiting to cultivate from print-new strains would be great for the pros-but what about the thousands of newbies who have not even mastered the cubensis yet-
i have moved on to pans now-i can relate about haveing to eat 20 shrooms to trip-but im not really in this hobby for the buzz-as im sure alot of people arent either-i just like to watch them grow(and eat ever now and then)
blumeanie, why do have to eat a whole casing to trip from cubensis?
maybe its not the potency, but the casings not producking very many fruits
if i ate an entire harvest from one of my casings(ordered cam on the way-ill post pics)im sure id lose my mind-mine usually produce at least a 1/2 ounce dried-thats my tiny casings-
new strains would be great-but im trying to grow all the ones i have first

I live in the Caribbean in the West Indies, we'll say, and believe i have found a new variety of cubensis and also a variety of copelandia cyanceans. I am trying to fruit already colonized cowflops in my backyard. I can make some spore prints off these and trade them. Here are pics of the cubes. I have yet to photo the copes but will asap. I kick myself for not sporeprinting the two next to the dollar bill. They were absolutely perfect, and extremely potent. Both pictures are of harvests from a fields near my house.

Chrome makes a very good point.
All these products that are being put out are basically the same.... In business this is called Marketing.....as long as there is demand....Vendors will continue.
What we really want is new strains.
I know for a fact that there are several new strains that MJ brought back.
He gave some to several of the Vendors....where are they now?
If they released these new strains....I'd be happy....so would others.
I realize that it takes time to domesticate these....work with them....grow them out.
And I'm sure you are all very busy....I know I am....not enough time in a day.
I asked MJ for a spore print from the violet-purple cube that he found.....he didn't have a print left....Psilocybe violacea
If you would like to see the pictures.....its on this thread Click here
This beautiful cube would be a great addition to the community.
I would love to grow this one out!
MJ....if you read this....if you ever find more Psilocybe violacea, please sell me a print.
I would grow it out....and spread the spores.
Then we have Tai strains:
Ban Lipa Noi
Ban Taling Ngam
Ban Thurian
Ban Tai
Ban Hua Thanon
some of these aren't that common.
I think people don't really realize how much MJ has really done as far as bringing strains back to us.... If you want new strains.....support MJ.
Buy his book and CD's.... help pay for his trips....and treat the man with respect.
He deserves this and more.....IMHO.
Max.....thanks for the Tapalpa and Wollongong strains.
The Acadian Coast has been around Chrome......It's just getting a little more popular.
The Keeper is a joke....aka STP....someone said the Keepers Creeper is a Cambodian.....well that isn't true... I know my Cambodians.
It very well could be another strain....but not a Cambodian....IMHO
The Keepers Creeper is a very fast colonizer....probably the fastest....and the cat will be out of the bag soon....I have Pictures up in the Picture forum of it....go ID it if you can.
This is second hand talk :
The "Z" strain is definately a strain that has been renamed....someone said "His "Z" I believe is the PESH".
And his "NJ6" a matias romero.
his "Blue meanies" seem like the Australian cub(he claims thier pan cyan though).
There are some other exotics out there.....you just have to ask around.
Hopefully we will be seeing a few more come to the mainstream soon.
On a lighter note..... I think the Vendors prices are getting better.
Now if you could only get along better....and stop all the fighting...lolz
And Chrome.....I thank you for asking me to be involved in this dream team you had thought to put together....I think some growers could spred some new spores.
I for one love to grow out mulitiple strains....and test the differences between them....half the fun is seeing them grow....the other half is seeing the differences....different shapes......and effects.
hippie and blue.... some people just love to try them all..... I know my goal is to try them all.
I have so many strains now...its unbelevable.
cowflop.....I'd be interested in a spore print of those...PM me.
See this might have brought out a new one.....think positive!

Sadly i must agree with that cracka hippie3. If you want variation grow edibles or some other species. I also highly doubt youve worked with every strain of cubes.

Ganga Shroom - Im not sure why you are questioning my cultivation credentials - I have moved on from casing my brf and growing 'big flushes'. If you want real size why not just spawn some horse shit or straw - the size of your flushes are then unlimited. If you would like me to show you pictures of my cultivation I would be more than glad too. Id very much like to see pictures of your cultivation.
Secondly I dont think you realise that the speed of colonisation has as much to do with the individual spore match from your multispore innoculation as from the original genetics of the spores. The only real way to compare strains is through agar isolation and that takes time - but atleast you know your in for a chance to see the spore race at its best unlike multispore which is pot luck.
Also, Unlike small children, I need atleast 30 fresh cubensis to even get my started - im sorry but I find that by the time im tripping hard on cubensis, my body and stomach are so fucked up that its not really worth the effort - especially when i can take the time to cultivate some Copelandias or to go and pick some woodlovers.
RoadKill - most of those spots in Thailand that you have mentioned are very close to one-another - Ive been to many of those places and the variation I found on local Cubensis wasnt that great. From what Ive been told, some vendors havent been impressed with the genetics of SOME of these spore-races - as an example the Malaysian cubensis pretty much came and went. Although it may be interesting to see how a Cubensis from Malaysia may perform, after growing it out once that is usually enough - im sure the Talpalpa and Wollongong are quite similar in that respect.
Lastly, Psilocybe violacea is not a Cubensis - Cubensis is only one of many Psilocybes = one of the easiest to fruit indoors because of its genetic versatility, but not one of the more potent Psilocybes.
