I found these in a meadow. I think they`re magic. My dog suggests to eat 2, what do the experts say? Spore print purple brown, bruises blue when touched

I have no idea what those are, but I agree with coon. They look active. Wait for some of the more seasoned experts to weigh in before you decide to eat though.

Yeah but he claims they are bruising. And it looks more like actual bruising rather than just a blue mushroom. In that pic where it's still in the ground there doesn't appear to be any blue at all. Hey mnt, do a spore print for us ok? Put one on white paper, but put the other cap on black paper.

Yeah, I missed the bit about bruising, just zoomed straight in on the pic...

most of those look to be at least slightly dry, so remember to take prints from the least dry [though of course not soggy] specimens and even then, if you can't get a print after a few hours, it can't hurt to wait overnight.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Could be Psilocybe fimetaria. I thought those usually had a more pronounced veil and umbo though.
Whatever they are, they are Psilocybe, and they are probably active.

I think they look more like stropharia aeruginosa/cyanea than anything active...
get a nice dark print, the s. aeruginosa I've printed came up chocolate brown, not very purplish at all...

Yeah, I still say inactive Stropharia.

yeah, those are Stropharias, don't eat them.
I have seen it suggested, but having picked a variety of active mushrooms myself, I have never noticed a distinct smell between them.
for example, fresh cyans and stuntzii smell very different to me, I think I could tell them apart just by smell blindfolded actually. cubes and copes smell nothing like either of those or like each other, and gymnopilus aeruginosus smells completely different from all of them, to me anyway. maybe my nose just sucks, but I kinda doubt it ...

Yeah, the gill structure and overall shape did throw them off. Now, with the spore print, that validates it is indeed not a psilocybe.
