Man, this is NERVE RACKING!

Set up my first cakes ever on saturday night. EXTRA careful with making sure everything was perfect. The first night, they sat in a cabnet that was around 75, the next morning, I built an incubator with a steady 80 setting. Now its exactly 3 days later and nothing yet. I feel like checking them every couple hours like a kid a x-mas saying "is that something, that might be something? is it???" it's driving me nuts! Luckily, I'm being cautious and leaving them alone.

Dude give it time !!
U should see growth within the next few day ....but could take up to another week if its a slow colonizer!
IMO...seeing nothing is better then seeing anything that shouldn't be there!

Very nerve racking - this thing requires patience, which is hard for myself. I have three cases that just showed their first patches of mike tofay, three jars almost ready, and four I innoc'd 3 days ago. 5 days is when I see mike growing

What strain are you growing? Some take 5-7 days to show a tiny bit of growth. If you followed the tek perfectly and have (or made a) viable syringe, you'll be fine.

Yep, that part is a nerve racking part. You just gotta wait it out. Eventually, after a couple of grows... the nerves go away!

i hear that man. i'v been like that as well. run to my bud's nearly every day to check.
dont worry tho. you'll be good as long, as someone earlier said, the jars were cool when inoc'd, inoc was sterile, and you followed yer teks closely. Hehe and im sure you did yer reading and were sterile enough if yer that excited
with PF colonization is the "hard" part. yer golden from there on in
GL man!

Yeah, I need to just chill out. It's B+. I pressure cooked the jars for just over an hour, lids on fairly tight, but not "stuck on" tight, foil over them. sprayed lysol ALL over the small room i did it in. even wore a pair of actual STERILE medical gloves I managed to get in a sterile pack. I did slip once and put too much injection in the next to last jar, so not too much in the 6th jar... but I figure it still will probably work, just take longer before I can birth.

Oh yeah, and I let them cool over 5 hours in the pressure cooker. they were absolutely room temp when I removed them.

Did you get the spores from a Shroomery vendor? Did you put the vermiculite on top and if you used tape, did you use micropore tape on the holes in your jars?
You should be fine as long as the syringe isn't viable (not likely if you bought from a shroomery vendor).

Being new at this myself you are going to fail to contams here and there but just keep trying. Once you have all the supplies its cheap so just keep doing it. I'm sure "that guy" tried once and didn't get it right on the first try. I totally screwed up on my first group of jars. Now time to patiently wait another month!!

Just keep em warm, and wait. Before you know it, those jars will be teeming with white. I've heard nothing but good from that strain. A girl I talked with has popped all her cakes out of the jars out and its driving her mad not seeing any pins!
