I agree brainless. Washington isn't about America, it's about staying in power.

If we pull out of Iraq and let it fall into civil war how will it shape up in the future? Could it be a positive I mean we had to suffer though a bloody civil war.

Exactly. Why are there not term limits on congress... and the supreme court for that matter. Two terms max for each house of congress (four terms total) would solve a lot of problems. Laws that expire, giving those in congress some good busy work would also be a bonus. Maybe one term of ten to twelve years for supreme court justices.
Getting back on subject:
What happens if Cheney were impeached rather than Bush? Leave the bumbling alcholic token figurehead in office and cut the puppet strings instead.
Would an impeachment backfire on the democrats? I can hear the republicans now talking about a witch hunt, the harm done to the war on terror, the harm done to our troops, etc...
How far would Bush go to stop an impeachment? Didn't he just sign the terrorize the world bill that allows him to toss people, including US citizens (gay or straight, doesn't matter) or members of congress, that he feels are anti-Bush (er, I mean a danger to the Bush administration... er, I mean a terrorist or democrat) into jail forever without charges, warrant, due process, or any rights other than the right to be tortured?
... and the amazing part. Once in power, it took the neocons less than six years to destroy the constitution..:(

I agree. If American history is anything to go by, it is clear everyone and anyone wealthy enough is above the law. Even if they are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people as GWB is.

I saw a sign somebody made that read "Somebody please give Pres. Bush a blowjob so we can impeach him."

Clinton was impeached for lying under oath. Last I checked Bush was never sworn in prior to making statements about Iraq or Afghanistan.
The Democrats could never actually get a case together for impeachment. Unfortunately, making unpopular decisions that are backed by Congressional spending bills has never been a crime. Lying under oath, breaking and entering into your opponents offices, those are crimes.

If the CIA leak inquiry concludes sometime soon - and if it could be connected right to the presidency, I imagine that will be the only technical point the democrats will have for impeachment.

It will never be connected to the Presidency, even if the investigation was somehow extended, it would be like Iran-Contra all over again, with tons of people lined up to take the fall before it reaches the Oval Office.
But then, in a funny corrupt sort of way, the same thing happened with the Clintons and White Water, with so many book keepers lined up to keep them from appearing corrupt.

two terms sounds fair, I'm partial to one term in office and a second in prison

cant blame this entirely on the bush administration, democrats voted for these bills too, in fact there were only 3 people that voted against the patriot act
can I blame the dogs for getting out if I left the door open?

Bush could be impeached on grounds of failing to uphold the Constitution cause so many of his Executive orders are in conflict with it, like holding American citizens at Gitmo in violation of the Constitution in the case of Hamdi v. Rumsfeld.

I think the key there is "to the best of my ability".
It's easy to peg someone for failing to tell the truth, but how can we ever measure how poorly someone managed a job when compared with their "usual level of competence"?

But that would seem to prove my point.
Someone who derives all of their power from a document (i.e. the President and the Constitution) and then claims that the document which grants them the power in the first place is "just a goddamned piece of paper" compared to the power they wield is clearly not from the "cream of the crop" as it were.
So, if we already know that Bush employs quirky, and possibly faulty, logic, how can we prove that he hasn't actually performed the job "to the best of his ability"?
After all, if his abilities don't include progressive logic, can you really prove he did an unusually bad job as President as compared to the other accomplishments of his life?
