i think he means, instead of karo/hone/dextrose as the nutrient source, that he instead use brown rice flour... seems interesting, but i'm guessing that any significant results aren't to be expected IMO.

Wouldn't work. The rice flour is not water soluble and would just swirl around like a snow globe and sink to the bottom while becoming sticky and gelatinous because of the starch content. This is IF you can actually get the flour into the water without the flour clumping into little balls. Anyone who makes starch based sauces knows what I'm talking about.

Maybe he means taking a colonized BRF cake and shooting water in and out of the cake until you get some broken up mycelium into the water and sucking it back up into the syringe. I think its called a suspended mycelium culture?

No, as long as you did not leave any standing water in there. Shoot 10ccs in and back out multiple times. You could make a bunch of syringes like this.

it can be used as a agar though but not sure a lc. if you make a paste with brf and water. you can inoculate the surface and take the most aggresive myc as a start to a strain isolation.

I didn't interpret this from the original post, but this method you speak of is valid.

I ment specifically adding brf to water and mixing it, as a substitute for honey/karo. Ive decided to take the BRF agar option.

peace.
