Incubating Hpoo? Hopefully its not to late.?
    #6180476 - 10/17/06 09:03 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

So I currently have 4, 5lb pound hpoo tubs with 2 quarts of rye mixed into each. They have been incubating for almost a week and arent doing to well. It is tennstud poo, and the only reason I think it is stalled is I have the temp to hot. I put them in my TIT at 84 degrees, but since it is 5 pounds each are they selfheating and becoming to hot, and this is why they are stalling? I lowered the temp, hopefully I am right on this! Someone reassure me:)

I place my trays on the floor being supported by pint size jars on all 4 sides.

Never incubate your subs because like you said it can and will over heat

Use room temperature for bulks. If you're comfortable in the room wearing only shorts and a tshirt, your mycelium will be happy too.

one last question... Is room temp all that is needed for the casing of bulks? Im assuming so from how it sounds, which is awesome, because this allows for me to go much larger with my next round since I am not limited by the size of the TIT.

I lost my first attempt at bulk due to incubating them at 82 degrees

Hard to say . Are they colonized towards the edges ? Is the center colonizing ?
