In our striving attempts to bring you quality mushrooms products, supplies, and accesories we are now introducing the Mini-Flow.
It is made of 3/4 inch plywood, has 2 2 inch thick hepa filters and the blower pushes out 236 cfp for a nice mellow breeze.
This one is in raw form and is how they are shipped, the buyer of this one would like it painted so I started (see the sealer bloch) then decided to take pics of exactly how it will look until you paint it.
It is 13 inches wide 14.5 inches tall and 15.5 deep
We can build to your specs depending but this depends on the size and quality of filters we can find.
You must pay in full before we will even buy the parts needed, for obvious reasons we do not want to get stuck with your hood.:)

Nice!
You said it has 2 hepa filters? Inside of the box? Why?
And does it have a prefilter in front of the blower?

it utilizes 2 -- 2 inch filters added protection IMO if you buy the larger ones for the larger flow hoods they are 6 inches thick so instead of the prefilter we used 2 filters this also helped limit the airflow with the one filter is was moving air very fast and when pouring petri's it was actually blowing the media around so I added a second.

Jammer the price will be different depending on the specs needed you will have to e-mail with details or if you are not sure what you want then I help you decide by determining what your usage and needs are then I price out all parts and we agree on the final price and you pay shipping.

Seems a bit cheap and crappy for a product/service people will actually be paying for...
Why not sell professional hoods? Can't make enough $ that way?

Doesn't seem like it'd be big enough to do more than 2 or 3 jars in front of, why 2 filters, what are they air conditioner filters? Have you tested them with a particle meter to see if they achieve laminar flow?
Well at least you aren't calling it a flow hood.

You would be better advised on placing a coarser prefilter in front of the blower?s intake than using 2(expensive) hepa filters....
Just my 2c....

i think, assuming that the s.p. you should be shooting for is 1", the 236 cfm may be too much for this size/square footage in the hood above. (is 236 right? ive only seen 100, 140, and 265- but not a 236? but i dont think ive seen them all!) ostensibly your fan would be working too hard and may create problems/overabundance of air within the chamber (or a backlog of air thru the fan, or a compromise of the box seal). you want to maintain over 100fpm, but doing a quick calc, youre almost 2x that... with that much pressure youd need a regulator on the fan to maintain the proper cfm rating (otherwise, you could risk the fan working too hard/burning up quicker than its normal shelflife, or causing a "ballooning" of air within the box, or just too much air going thru - which can always lead to an increase in contaminate exposure or just plain having it blow too hard over culturing). perhaps my math is wrong, i am just a humanities whore- let me know if my calcs are wrong.
also, 2 2" filters are not going to be as effective as the 6" size, esp. since 6" are specifically rated as to their resistance- by sticking 2 together you cannot accurately rate their resistance (which is necessary to calc the fan requirements to sq feet of filter surface). 6" filters, and flowhoods in general, work b/c the air has to pass thru so many layers while maintaining their 99.9% rating- throwing a 236cfm behind filters that cant handle that much pressure will just cause a drop in HEPA efficiency (and undermine the point of open-air work). also, since the HEPAs arent woven together (one piece), you have no way of ascertaining pressure loss between them, or know what is gathering between the HEPA sandwich...
i also think anno's right, putting in a prefilter is a good idea (but id keep at least the 2 HEPAs you already have, well actually i wouldnt go with them, but thats just me). it would increase the life of your HEPAs and also would help not make the fan work too hard by pre-screening the particulate matter before it reached the expensive HEPA- prefilters are more easily replaced and are way less expensive than HEPAs. by keeping the large particulate out of the air you add life to the HEPA in that it doesnt have to screen the air for large sized particulate as well as micron-sized particulate... also, having an open box (free air that has not been screened thru a prefilter lands in the box), you risk a buildup of larger particulate gathering in the box (or latyering the 1st side of the HEPA)- by having a prefilter under the fan (or, anywhere before open air reaches the box) you cut down on buildup. turning an off hood on stirs up a lot of crap if you have crap in your box to start with (from the air, from the previous work).
road, jammer- since d didnt give a price (i have no idea what he charges either)- the cost of the "big" materials should run ... 80 or so for the filter (assuming 6", which this isnt), and 80 or so for the fan (265cfm, price from a local shop)... wood, blood, sealant, hardware, etc. prolly would even it out to a little under 200 if making it yourself. but since i dont know the source of the HEPAs (hopefully not air conditioning ones)- those are just rough guesstimates, and of course dont include labor or shipping. (the fans are freaking heavy). probably way less since the filters cant be that expensive in relation to the 6" ones i used for my guesstimate. ((i wonder how close i came in guessing?))

So your educated guess is for over $200.

Why not sell professional hoods? Can't make enough $ that way?
The buyer of this one needed it smaller he has a very small work area so we adjusted to fit him.
um I don't think making 10 dollars is making money or enough "profit"
The plywood sheet was 30.00
The blower was 78.00
The filters were 27.00x2 54.00
The cord was 4.00
The switch 2.00
shipping 25.00
small trim wood was 10.00
------------------------------------------
I charged him 175.00
at this rate I will be rich over night.
We had an agreement you would stay out of my threads and low and behold you seem to look for things to whine about.
Maybe you should stick to your word as I have stuck to mine.
