Found one only.
Looks nice yum yum
This Psilocybe shroom is still growing so I will try to get another photo on Saturday. Found in a wet eucalypt rain forest growing on leaf litter north of Sydney NSW Australia.

Very nice, where did you find it and are those Eucalyptus leaves on the ground or what? This is a beautiful specimen of Psilocybe australiana. Congradulations on your discovery. Mj Location, habitat etc would be nice. One shroom given to the right cultivator will make for a new crop more than hoping leaving the one lonely specimen hoping it willfruit to more shrooms within a year is one in a billion probably. Still it looks loverly. Mj

is there a consensus with that id?? Ive found that subs and australiana are very hard to distinguish - if that has striate marginal lines and no veil attachment on the margin, would you think it was a light coloured subaeruginosa??

All PSilocybe species have a striate margin. It is one of the characteristics of the Genus Psilocybe. Of course they may not be visable all of the time. I have P. stuntzii's with a striate margin and then many without it showing. IT depends on the weather conditions and the particular stage of development and growth within the particular mushroom when found. Mj.

Cool - that looks very similar to the lighter coloured mushroom from around here that we have id'd as SUbaeruginosa - although it is VERY umbonated - very similar to this infact:

Recent microscopic and protein analysis suggests that Ps.Australiana is a misnomer. Ps.Australiana is Ps.Subaeruginosa with slightly different shaped p.cystidia.
