    #617680 - 04/24/02 08:37 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

big worm pc'd 12 jars of milet for an hour at 15 psi. he waited overnight then knocked them up with about 1 cc of equador spores per jar. big worm has waited about three weeks and only two of the jars have quarter sized mycelium growth. he is using pint jars with vacuum cleaner filters on top. also on most of the jars the 1/4 to 2/3 of the top portion of millet looks dry. thanks for the help peeps!!

What temps are you colonizing the jars in ?

You probably could have used a little more spores....like 2 cc's.

Did you shake the jars up after pressure cooking them ?
If you didn't.....you should have.....that would be one reason the top is dryer than the rest.

After you see a little more growth.....shake them....this will help.

also if you are using strait disks,no lids, then you need to have a good moistur content in your incobater-they will get plenty of air and dry out of you dont have plenty of moisture-

Can you use these as filters? I'll need some filter disks for my next project and using vacuum cleaner filters would make things a lot easier and cheaper.

Ganja, would you recommend supplemental humidity for lids with the hole+polyfil tech as well? Just checking cause my pet camel just innoculated his first batch yesterday and used that tek.
