Blown fusible plate on pressure cooker
    #6171515 - 10/15/06 11:22 AM (17 years, 5 months ago)

A show of hands here everyone, who's blown that replaceable fusible plate on there pressure cooker? It acts as a saftey mechanism in case the rocker is blocked. I really had no idea it existed until my friend started up a batch of WBS, 20 min in we hear this PPPPPPPPPPSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH as steam is flying 10 feet in the air and the PC drained in like 5 seconds!

And trust me, replacement ones are not that easy to find! My friend ran into Canadian tire with some pliers and jacked the one off of the display model haha. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do! Just thought I would share this valueble piece of information with you guys! And I still have no idea why it blew, as everything was working perfectly normal until then. I've read it can happen with too much water in the PC.

Try this place. I got parts there for a 60+ year old pressure cooker that was passed down from my grandmother. So they should have what you need.
