HUGE Unknown find in KY...

Im asking for an ID, but I know these pics SUCK. They were sent to me by my sister from my family's farm. She said they are pumpkin orange, cap is 8in wide, and stalk is about 2-3in thick. No discernable smell, not sticky or slimy, full stem with white core, just darkened in color when cut, non milking when cut,was found "growing by the hundreds under a tree", and Im still waiting for her results from the print. Any ideas?

To be fair, its sort of a bad description/picture. It could be many different genus of mushroom. Sporeprint would help alot.

The description and the look makes me think they are Jack O'Laterns. Poisonous.
Try comparing it to this and tell me what ya' think.

Yeah SweetLeaf, that was my only conclusion after some research. But, arent Jacks a milky variety?

If you mean like a lactarius species, then no, I've never heard or read that. Your description of growing in clusters near trees (they are a mycorrhizal species; they have a symbiotic relationship with a plant) and rather large "pumpkin orange" fits Jacks pretty well.
