strange substrate mix experiment (will this work?)

i was thinking on a biological veiwpoint today.. i relized most nutriants are in ceritan seeds..to the question... i was wondering if i got a few alvocado seeds mixed with mango seeds and put that in a blender, mixed verm and water and P.Cooked it and then inoculated..would that work on birthing  few nice babies :smile:

Well mushrooms need the certain nutrients within the grains. An avocado and mango are seeds for trees. I think a grain seed and tree seeds will differ quite a bit. There are quite a few different types of grains to be used, but all have different caracteristics. Remember you're going to have to add vermeculite to a powder form of anything because it won't retain any water on its own.

I dont think it would work, but why dont you try and see with a jar if you're interested! :smile:

WTF? I thought rice was a seed, guess I'm wrong. I just thought we were using ground seeds all along...
